Installing and Using the Slack Notifications Extension
This article covers installing and using the Slack Notifications extension for Contact Form Ready.
Once you’ve purchased the Slack Notifications extension for Contact Form Ready and downloaded the plugin, you are ready to install the extension. Go to WordPress Dashboard → Plugins → Add New. Click on the Upload Plugin button.
Click the Choose File button and navigate to where you’ve stored the Slack Notifications Extension zip file. Select the file and click the Open button.
Click the Install Now button.
Once the plugin has installed successfully click the Activate Plugin button.
Set Up Slack Notifications
Slack Notifications are enabled on each individual form. Open a form for editing and click on the Slack Notifications tab.
Click in the checkbox next to Enable Slack Notifications for this form.
Create a Webhook for Your Form
Create a URL for your Slack team based on this one https://your-team-name.slack.com/services/new/incoming-webhook, replacing your-team-name with, yep your team name. Paste the URL in your browser.
Choose a Channel for Your Notifications
On the Slack webhooks page in your browser, scroll down to Post to Channel. Select a channel for your notifications from the drop-down list.
Click the Add Incoming Webhooks Integration button.
When the page refreshes after your data is saved, scroll down and copy the Webhook URL.
Return to your WordPress site and paste the webhook URL into the Webhook URL textbox.
Click the Update button to save your data.
Now when someone submits this form you’ll receive a notification in the designated Slack channel.
